Monique Licht MPS, Early Career Pharmacist of the Year

Former Tasmanian Intern of the Year in 2021 Monique Licht MPS is now the state’s Early Career Pharmacist of the Year for 2024. Her passion, developed largely outside work hours, is medicinal cannabis.

She has spoken at panels and conferences and educated fellow pharmacists, prescribers, allied health and students on its use and benefits. A member of the national ECP Community of Specialty Interest (CSI), Ms Licht, has also expanded her skills into compounding medicinal cannabis to specific doses for patients that are not available in commercial products.

Pharmacist of the Year, Kristina Fox

This year’s Tasmanian Pharmacist of the Year Kristina Fox has a keen interest in technology.

She remodelled her pharmacy with innovative design and technology, including a robotic dispensary and five purpose-built consulting rooms – as well as triage prescription software she designed herself.

Ian Huett, Lifetime Achievement Award

The Lifetime Achievement Award recipient was PSA Life Member Ian Huett, a former member practitioner of the Pharmacy Board of Australia who has been recognised for dedication as a pharmacist, mentor, teacher, advocate and leader of the profession.

He has provided his northern Tasmanian community with outstanding service and quality as well as commitment to training and advancing employees for more than 50 years at his pharmacies in Deloraine, west of Launceston.
